About the Designer

Designer Lu Yilin’s foray into various genres of art and design has birthed her distinctive style. Before college, Yilin worked as a graphic designer to expose herself to the workings of the industry. Following that, she pursued her Fine Art studies at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, London, where she majored in media. During these college years, she participated in various residencies and exhibitions with her peers around europe. It was in London where her interest in fashion first began to develop.

Upon her return to Singapore, Yilin taught art in both practice and history. Her experiences and a deep interest in art and design culminated in a growing curiosity in fashion, leading to the making of her first dress. Wanting to explore further the potential of her craft, she went on to hone her tailoring skills in Milan, Italy. Self-taught as a fashion designer, Yilin maintains a hands-on and experimental approach to her work.

グラフィックデザイナーを経験した後、ロンドンに名声のある Slade School of Fine Art でメディア、概念テクストとビデオ表現を専攻し勉強した。在学中にはヴェネツィアで仲間と版画を製作し、ヨーロッパ中で展覧会を行い、その時、初めてファッションに興味を持ち始めた。シンガポールに戻ってからは、アートを教えながら、ファッションに対しての関心が高まり、最初のドレスをデザインし、製作した。独学でファッションを勉強し、デザイナーとして、これからも実験的、体験しながらデザインを続ける。
